Exciting news for fans of low-budget, high-concept comedy lunacy with word that a Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil sequel is in the works. According to Guardian Liberty Voice, the second helping of the 2010 mock-horror will reunite Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine for more accidental mayhem and woodchipping.
Shooting somewhere in a dark forest near you – or possibly moving to the big city –** T&D2** will follow on from the tale of two well-meaning rural folk, Tucker (Tudyk) and Dale (Labine), who head to the mountains for a few days cabin-time. A visiting bunch of college kids assume the pair are psychotic hillbillies when one of their number disappears, unwittingly setting in train a violent course of events in which many people die, all entirely by accident. Think the Unevil Dead or Friendly Cabin In The Woods.
It barely made a splash in cinemas but has flourished since on download, DVD and other formats. It’s well on the way to cult status and Team Tucker has no intention of scorching that goodwill on a subpar second effort. “Don’t worry,” Labine reassured fans at Cincinatti’s HorrorHound Convention. “We’ll never make a shitty sequel.”
