Ethan Hawke has made a comfortable home at Jason Blum's indie horror production company Blumhouse recently, with Sinister and The Purge. And he's staying put for his next movie, co-starring with John Travolta in **In A Valley Of Violence{
Genre-wise this appears on the surface to be an unusual Blumhouse project, since its being described as a Western rather than a horror flick. Revenge seems to be the order of the day, however, with that title indicating that blood will be up and the bodycount might be high. Given the pedigree of the studio and the director, we'd doubt this is going to be a My Darling Clementine. Expect something more Corbucci than Ford.
No plot details have yet been released, other than that the film is set in the 1890s (so the dying days of the Old West, but not as late as The Wild Bunch). Hawke as a sheriff or a bounty hunter, with Travolta giving us one of his scenery-chewing villains à la The Taking Of Pelham 123 and Broken Arrow? We don't know, but we're looking forward to finding out.
Blum is, of course, producing, but there's no start date so far. West's most recent horror **The Sacrament **is out in the UK in sometime in April.
