Whatever you’re doing right now, stop it. And hie thee over to Apple to watch the brand new trailer for the most eagerly awaited film of the year.
Yes, it’s Transporter 3, and the glorious return of The Stath as the unstoppable Frank Martin.
This trailer not only sets up the plot – Frank is forced to act as a driver for bad guys wanting to transport a kidnap victim across Europe – but also the ingenious device (a bomb hardwired to Frank that will go off if he gets more than 75 feet from his car) that drives much of the action in the movie.
And boy, does there seem to be a lot of action in this movie, courtesy of new director Olivier Megaton. The emphasis appears to be much more on car chases than the previous two films, with a couple of outrageous stunts involving lorries. But fans of The Stath’s close fighting skills will be glad to know that there are hints of a couple of scenes where he has to take on a group of bad guys.
Coupled with some inventive Crank-style antics as Frank tries to keep within safe distance of his car, and what appears to be a burgeoning love affair between Frank and his feisty passenger Valentina (which seems to scupper the theory that Frank is gay), and Transporter 3 looks like it’ll easily follow in the ludicrously enjoyable footsteps of its predecessors.
