Last week we brought you news that Thorpe Park were launching a ride based on the Saw films. But this week Universal Studios have blown that right out of the water by announcing Transformers: The Ride!

Universal teamed up with DreamWorks Pictures and Hasbro (who make the toys) to come up with a Transformers extravaganza, planned for 2011. There will be robotics aplenty, high definition 3-D footage and also a track- meaning this will be a moving ride (fingers crossed for an Autobot vs. Decepticon fight-style rollercoaster!). The studio has released a little concept art to give us a few hints as to what they're planning.

Transformers: The Ride will replace the Backdraft ride in the US theme park and will be launched simultaneously in Universal Studios Singapore too. Bring the rain!
