Things are moving as quickly as Michael Bay edits in regards to news of the fourth Transformers outing. Just yesterday, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura confirmed that the Dinobots would be making an appearance in the film, and today it's been announced that the movie (thanks to a poster up at Yahoo) will be called Transformers: Age Of Extinction.
The title and the sandy design for the poster seem to point towards the Dinobots’ presence, which further confirms what set spies have been reporting.
We also know that Wahlberg is a struggling inventor and single father to Tessa (Nicola Peltz) who in turn is dating race car driver Shane (Jack Reynor). Kelsey Grammer plays bad guy Harold Attinger, with Sophia Myles, Stanley Tucci, T.J. Miller, Titus Welliver, Bingbing Li, Victoria Summer and Geng Han all aboard.
In related Transformers news, the film’s Chinese outreach – including location work done in China itself – has continued apace via the Transformers 4 Chinese Actors Talent Search Reality Show (which really should have been called So You Think You Can Run Away From Giant Living Machines or, more simply, Optimus Idol) locking down Byron Li, Austin Lin, Candice Zhao and Teresa Daley for very small roles. They don’t even appear to have character names, so we’ll have to see how “Kung Fu fighter”, “sexy goddess”, “computer geek” and “cute Loli” fit into the overall story.
The director and his cast and crew are busy bringing the Bayhem in front of cameras now, aiming for a June 27 release next year.
