If you’ve seen Train To Busan, Korean filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho’s incredible zombies-on-a-train movie, chances are you’ve spent all your time since spreading the infection – telling everyone else you meet that they really must get round to watching Train To Busan, with its frantic frights, epic set pieces and emotional story, ASAP. And now, while some UK cinemas are closing, Yeon’s long-awaited Train To Busan follow-up Peninsula has confirmed its plans to hit big screens across the UK this November. Check out the new trailer here.
The film is coming to UK screens nationwide on 6 November – but for those who wanted it to be part of their Halloween plans, don’t fear. The film will premiere in the UK at the Celluloid Screams festival on 23 October, and will then have special previews in some cinemas over the Halloween weekend. Praise the zombie gods. The film is a sequel(ish) to Train To Busan – and while it doesn’t feature the same characters, it’s very much the same infected apocalypse. Taking place four years after Train, it sees a desperate group head into a zombie-ridden Korean city to pick up an abandoned truck filled with treasure. Except, it turns out the zombies aren’t the only things to be wary of.
Following its cinema release, Peninsula (or, Train To Busan Presents: Peninsula, to give it its full official UK title) will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on 30 November. But with zombie carnage galore, this one’s an ideal big-screen treat, if your local is still open.
