It feels like a long time since we heard anything concrete about the How To Train Your Dragon franchise, with the third film's release pushed back a couple of times. Now, with a sneak peek about to screen at the annual Annecy International Animation Film Festival, DreamWorks Animation has announced that the movie will be named How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, and released a little more information.
The announcement, handed to Variety, confirms a few of the details that had been floating around about the movie, with the story finding Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) fulfilling his dream of a peaceful dragon utopia, only for his reign as chief of the village is tested when an elusive mate draws best dragon pal Toothless away even as danger mounts at home. What will the pair have to face to save both of their species?
Baruchel will be joined by returning fellow voice cast members Cate Blanchett, Gerard Butler and Craig Ferguson, and with Dean DuBlois once more directing, the film is scheduled to arrive in the UK on 1 February next year.
