We know that director Yeon Sang-ho can deliver the goods on the big screen, especially via undead thriller Train to Busan in 2016. Now Netflix is looking to tap his talent for TV, commissioning a series currently known as Hellbound.

The new series will adapt Choi Gyu-seok's Korean web-toon Hell, which tells a story of surviving under social chaos, when a group of supernatural beings appear and condemn people to hell. A new religious group interprets them as the will of the divine.

Yeon is working on the script with Choi, but there's no timeframe for when the series might actually hit the streaming service. As for his cinematic output, Yeon has follow-up Peninsula, which isn't a direct sequel to Busan, but is set four years later in the same universe, with the zombie wasteland cranked up.
