Still best known as Battlestar Galactica's Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, Katee Sackhoff is beginning to carve herself a bit of a niche in the horror genre. Following Oculus and Ghosts Of Georgia (plus Riddick, which had monsters in it), she's now front and centre in Don't Knock Twice, a British chiller from The Machine's director Caradog James. Here's the new trailer.

Initially pitched as in the vein of Candyman and Ring, Don't Knock Twice also turns out to be tapping into the cycle of mother-and-child horrors seen in the recent likes of The Babadook, Goodnight Mommy and Prevenge. Revolving around a "psychologically terrifying urban legend", the plot sees a guilt-ridden Sackhoff trying to save her estranged daughter from the apparent curse of a vengeful witch.

Lucy Boynton and Nick Moran co-star, Mark Huckerby and Nick Ostler (the team behind Paul Hyett's Howl - not to mention the new Danger Mouse) wrote the screenplay, and Don't Knock Twice is out in the UK on March 31.
