Here's some bloody, sleazy goodness to see you through the weekend. High school horror humour hybrid Excision** played at Sundance earlier in the year, and now there's a trailer online for the rest of us{
Cut to Nine Inch Nails' Closer, this trailer provides a nice transition from wholesome-seeming teen drama to crazed sex and violence. McCord plays Pauline, alienated from her small-town suburban surroundings, battling her controlling mother, obsessed with flesh and desperate to lose her virginity. She also has a leaning towards being a surgeon. That can't end well.
The real news here is the cast though, a culty dream that sees McCord supported by Malcolm McDowell, Traci Lords, John Waters (as a priest!) and Ray Wise.
Excision is the feature debut of writer-director Richard Bates Jr, and is an expansion of one of his short films. There's no release date outside the festival circuit yet, so the trailer will have to do for a while. If you hand't already gathered, it's pretty NSFW: Trent's bad words have been edited out of the soundtrack, but the boobs and gore are still in.
