Those fine folks over at AICN recently spoke to Joseph Kosinski, the director of the unwieldy-titled TR2N, and discovered that the hotly anticipated sequel is set to be released in glorious 3-D.

Joining the extra-dimensional likes of Avatar, Monsters Vs. Aliens, Tintin and Toy Story 3 (all of which will require those natty specs to enjoy the complete cinematic experience), the John Lasseter-masterminded project will employ steroscopic 3-D technology to make all those cool lightcycles and tight spandex uniforms quite literally jump off the screen.

The director, who seems confident that the film will be ready for a late 2010 release, speaks in more detail here.
