Exodus Film Group and the Weinsteins have been hunting for a mad scientist- sorry, director – to head up their Igor project.

And now they’ve found their man in Tony Leondis. He’l coordinate the film, which features the voices of John Cleese, Christian Slater and Steve Buscemi in the tale of a hunchbacked lab assistant who dreams of becoming a genius like his boss and winning the annual Evil Science Fair.

Leondis has worked on the likes of Lilo & Stitch 2, The Prince Of Egypt and The Road To El Dorado and has done pretty much every animation job under the sun - "Tony's vast array of animation experience as a writer, director and storyboard artist are key ingredients to making the film a success," executive producer Max Howard told The Hollywood Reporter.
