The martial artist likes of Tony Jaa and Jet Li we can absolutely see joining Vin Diesel in xXx sequel The Return Of Xander Cage. But Toni Collette? That's a little more unexpected. Still, she's a welcome addition to the cast for the new action thriller.
Very little is known about what will actually go on in the film, but it'll see the return (obviously, given the title) of Diesel's extreme sports enthusiast-turned-government asset Xander Cage and, according to reports, will ramp things up with two teams of tough nuts going up against each other.
Collette will be more of an authority figure, playing a bureaucrat who works in the intelligence service. In addition to Jaa and Li, Nina Dobrev, Deepika Padukone, Ruby Rose and a returning Samuel L. Jackson are all part of the cast. There have been rumours that Ice Cube might show up to reprise his role as xXx: State Of The Union's Darius Cole, but nothing is confirmed about that yet.
D.J. Caruso starts the cameras and the vehicles rolling in a few weeks in Toronto and the Dominican Republic. As for Collette, she'll be seen in FBI thriller Imperium and drama The Little Birds.
