As the cameras start cranking in Virginia, director Daniel Ragussis is adding more cast members to FBI thriller Imperium, which also features another Daniel – Radcliffe – in its lead role. Toni Collette, Sam Trammell and Tracy Letts are all joining him in the film.

Co-scripted by Ragussis and Michael German, an FBI agent who spent years undercover in neo-Nazi and militia groups in the States, the film’s story is inspired by German’s own experiences. Radcliffe’s character, Nate Foster, will be similarly embedded, trying to stop a bunch of chaos-happy white supremacists constructing a dirty bomb.

Collette is aboard to play a hardened colleague in the agency who works alongside Foster. Letts will be the leader of the white supremacy movement in the film and Trammell’s seemingly ordinary suburban dad will secretly be working as an Aryan youth recruiter.

Lionsgate is handling the film in the US and it’ll be sold on to other territories soon enough, so we should be finding out when it might come out in the UK. As for Collette, she’s on screens in Miss You Already and will be back for Christmas horror thriller Krampus, which creeps in on December 4. Trammell, a veteran of True Blood, will be in drama The Track and crime drama I Am Wrath. Letts has financial crisis drama The Big Short due on January 22.
