We've been fascinated with this project since we first heard about it. A film shot entirely in front of blue screens with Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie? Well, as the new trailer shows, we were right to take an interest as Kerry Conran's visual feast is truly a sight to behold. Taking its inspiration from the pulp matinee sci-fis of old, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow maintains that gloriously realised retro feel, smoothing the edges the flawlessly slick CG that modern technology allows. Law stars as Sky Captain, a hot shot fighter pilot contacted by old flame and investigative reporter Polly Perkins (Paltrow) when she discovers that famous scientists are disappearing. Strange flying machines and looming giant robots soon begin to invade and it's up to Law and the rest of the Flying Legion to stop them in their tracks. It all looks glorious and you can see it for yourself here. And while you're in the trailer mood, the inexplicably titled Man On Fire has just gone online with Tony Scott directing Denzel Washington as he sets out to rescue a kidnapped child. Showcasing the edgy, 'don't mess' aura that earned Washington an Oscar for Training Day, this could be worth a look too. Click here.
