You might recall yesterday thatSimon Pegg tweeted about Andy Serkis replacing David Tennant alongside him in John Landis' Burke And Hare. While Pegg deleted that announcement (it's likely he jumped the gun), Serkis has now been officially confirmed, along with Tom Wilkinson and Isla Fisher.
The lead cast for the film has now grown to four, with Pegg and Serkis playing the infamous 19th century grave robbers, William Burke and William Hare, who, when they start to run out of easily accessible bodies to sell to medical schools, turn to murder to keep their business running.
Fisher has signed on to play Burke's girlfriend, a wannabe actress looking for a patron who likely becomes an accomplice to the killings.
Wilkinson, meanwhile, will bring his gravitas/comedy chops to the role of Dr Robert Knox, an anatomy lecturer on the hunt for fresh, dead meat to slice 'n' dice.
After a break from directing for 10 years, Landis will jump back into working at the start of February, when the film starts shooting in Edinburgh and London.
