The box office receipts from Mission Impossible 2 for the first 12 days have been an astonishing $130.7 million, making it the highest grossing film of the year so far. With various sources putting the cost of making the movie at anywhere between the official $90 million and $150 million, it looks like money well spent for Paramount. But despite Cruise's huge success, he'd do well not to rest on his laurels just yet - the movie's second weekend saw it rake in $27 million - just a fraction ahead of its rival opener, the Martin Lawrence comedy vehicle Big Momma's House.
