Considering where we left Spider-Man at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Queens’ finest web-slinger wouldn’t exactly be in need of a new suit. But that’s exactly what he’s got in Spider-Man: Far From Home – and it’s been revealed by Tom Holland himself in an Instagram snap marking the end of the shoot. The actor shared a photo of Spider-Man standing next to Zendaya’s MJ with the caption “THAT’S A WRAP”, confirming that filming has indeed finished on the Homecoming sequel.
The suit looks similar to the Homecoming version, leaving behind the Iron Spider variant that Peter Parker donned in Infinity War, but appears to have a few updated details and textures. What’s more intriguing is whether this photo is a shot from the film, or a pic of the actors on set – will MJ be proper friends with Spider-Man this time around? And will she know his true identity? The pair were less linked in Homecoming than previous incarnations of the characters, with Parker pursuing classmate Liz for most of that film.
The other elephant in the room is how the hell Spider-Man will return in Avengers 4. If you don’t remember, at the end of Infinity War he was – SPOILER WARNING – dusted by Thanos’ snap that disintegrated half of the known universe. It remains to be seen how Sony and Marvel will market Far From Home, which hits cinemas on 5 July, just two months after the still-untitled Avengers 4.
