Here's a combination of talent likely to get you excited... Tom Hardy has signed on to star in a new film from Andrew Dominik, with Ridley Scott producing. The trio is working on a new Navy SEAL movie called War Party.

Exactly what this one will be about remains a closely guarded secret for now, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, it'll be based on true events and features a SEAL mission, since part of the deal for the movie includes life rights to some actual military types.

This marks the latest collaboration between Hardy and Scott after TV series Taboo, which recently won a second series.

Netflix snapped up the rights to make the movie, seeing off the likes of Amazon, Universal and Lionsgate in a bidding war that demonstrate how the streaming services are becoming bigger players in Hollywood. Dominik, who last made Killing Them Softly and Nick Cave documentary One More Time With Feeling will co-write the new film with Harrison Query.

Hardy will be back on cinema screens this July in Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk.
