Some films might be happy with adding such names as Tom Hardy, Tye Sheridan, Stephan James, Bill Skarsgard and Pete Davidson, but for Vietnam war drama The Things They Carried is just getting started.
Ashton Sanders, Martin Sensmeier, Moises Arias and Angus Cloud are also all aboard the film, which has Snow White And The Huntsman's Rupert Sanders in the director's chair and Scott B. Smith on script duty.
Adapted from Tim O’Brien's novel, the film will tell the story of the young men of Alpha Company, a platoon of American soldiers sent to fight on the ground during the Vietnam War. Trekking from village to village amidst chaos and confusion, the young men struggle to navigate a growing labyrinth of physical, mental, and emotional terrains as they battle for the survival of their sanity, innocence, and each other... Sanders is aiming to have the cameras cranking early next year in Thailand.
Hardy and his producing partner Dean Baker are among the producers, along with MJZ's David Zander and Amy T. Hu, and we're promised more casting news to come.
