Tom Cruise is going all comedy. The actor, whose self-mocking, hilarious turn in Tropic Thunder represents probably the greatest PR move this year, is circling a movie called Food Fight, which would see him play a New York chef who forced to cook food in a school canteen.
The movie's script is written by Adam Brooks (Definitely, Maybe) and a director is being sought.
Taking a step into comedy sounds like a good step for Cruise. As already said, he's terrific in Tropic Thunder. He's never really made a purely comedic film, only films with comedic elements, and that's not for want of comedy talent. Could this be a movie that puts him back in movie audience's good books?
