Having scored it big with a cast largely free of huge names on The Hangover, it appears that Todd Phillips is looking to replicate the idea with a secret new comedy film currently online known by a codename – Project X.
Phillips won’t be directing this one, though: he’ll produce it with Joel Silver and has handed megaphone-waving duties off to ads creator Nima Nourizadeh, who has worked on ads for Adidas and more.
Deadline New York reports that the film, about which nothing is really known other than it’ll be a raunchy high concept idea, has a slim $12 million budget and the casting directors have been tasked with finding really, truly unknown talent - particularly those who’ve never acted on screen before. To keep it truly secret, the producers are only releasing watermarked pages to any potential cast member.
**Project X (**or rather, whatever it ends up actually being called) will start shooting in June in LA, with Phillips squeezing in the job of overseeing the production in between finishing Due Date and starting up work on The Hangover 2.
