After her years spent in franchise territory, Kristen Stewart has, for the most part, stuck to smaller-scale indie movies. But she's headed for action with disaster thriller Underwater and T.J. Miller and Jessica Henwick have signed on to join her in peril.
The Signal's William Eubank is directing the movie, with Brian Duffield on script duty. As you might be able to figure out from the title, Underwater is set in a subaquatic laboratory which is damaged when an earthquake hits. With the structure ruptured and water pouring in, the researchers must struggle to survive. We'd expect to learn about more casting soon as the plan is to kick off shooting the movie this month in New Orleans.
Stewart is on screens now in Certain Women and has Personal Shopper hitting the UK on the 17th of this month. She'll also be seen in biographical crime drama Lizzie. Miller has a voice in The Emoji Movie (4 August) and worked on Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One, due on 30 March next year, while Henwick is one of the stars of Marvel/Netflix's Iron Fist, hitting the streaming service on 17 March.
