Hollywood is fond of assessing its denizens in terms of gorgeousness, success and sex appeal and The Hollywood Reporter today reveals its pick of the most powerful. The industry magazine's 2002 Star Power survey rates film stars in terms of global bankability, and based on those terms have come out with a top triumvirate of Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. All three, according to the HR, 'nailed a perfect 100 score' based on a number of areas including the star's performance in opening a movie and the degree to which their name alone could finance a movie. Perhaps the biggest surprise is Russell Crowe, a relative newcomer to the list who leapfrogs veteran A-listers like Harrison Ford and Bruce Willis to make the No. 5 position. More than a thousand actors were included in the poll, and the top 10 reads like this: 1. Tom Cruise 1. Tom Hanks 1. Julia Roberts 2. Mel Gibson 3. Jim Carrey 4. George Clooney 5. Russell Crowe 6. Harrison Ford 7. Bruce Willis 8. Brad Pitt
