After winning high acclaim and bagging an Oscar nomination for his work in Call Me By Your Name, you can imagine filmmakers are eager to work with Timothée Chalamet. One such director is David Michôd, who has signed the young actor to play Henry V in The King.

The film, which Michôd has written with Joel Edgerton (who will also star), is set in the late 1300s, when a young Henry ascends to the throne after his brother is killed in battle before he has the chance to rule.

A reluctant monarch, he's initially ill-suited to a time when England's empire was teetering and war with France seemed sure, yet Henry rose to the occasion and entered the history books.

Michôd once again has the backing of Brad Pitt's Plan B company, and aims to have the cameras rolling in June. Chalamet has already worked on drug drama Beautiful Boy and will also be seen in Woody Allen's A Rainy Day In New York, even as he's offered to donate his fee for that one to the Time's Up legal fund.
