The adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger’s book The Time Traveler’s Wife might still be looking for stars – Rachel McAdams being the latest rumoured thesp for the wife role – but it does have a director.
Flightplan’s Robert Schwentke is apparently ready to sign on to direct the New Line romantic drama, which finds a man leaping though time because of a strange medical condition, and chronicles how it affects his relationship with the woman who loves him.
Schwentke joins a long list of helmers talked about for the book, one that includes David Fincher, Steven Spielberg and, more recently, Gus Van Sant.
