Ike Barinholtz has been mostly known for his scene-stealing work in the likes of the Bad Neighbours films, Suicide Squad and for being one of the creative people behind US sitcom The Mindy Project, including directing a couple of episodes. He's looking to bring that ability to the big screen with The Oath and has recruited Girls Trip's Tiffany Haddish and Star Trek's John Cho to the cast.

Barinholtz wrote the script and will appear in front of the camera as well for a satire set in an America where citizens must take an oath of loyalty. The story focuses on one man who must make it through the Thanksgiving holiday without tearing his family apart.

The pair joins a cast that also features Carrie Brownstein, Billy Magnussen, Meredith Hagner, Jon Barinholtz, Nora Dunn and Chris Ellis, with Barinholtz gearing up to shoot soon for Get Out co-financiers QC Entertainment.

Haddish found breakout success this year with Trip and hosted Saturday Night Live. She has movies such as Night School and Boosters on the way. Cho has worked on upcoming films including Search, and appears in the TV adaptation of The Exorcist.
