Although it premiered to very mixed reviews and seemingly disappointing box office back in 2012, it appears there’s life in The Three Stooges yet. An independent production team is reuniting Larry , Curly and Moe for more comedy madness in a sequel.
While Dumb And Dumber duo Peter and Bobby Farrelly were the co-writers and directors last time, realising a long-held dream to bring the characters to a new audience, Variety’s story on the sequel makes no mention of either.
Instead, Cameron Fay has been hired to write the script, which will apparently have more of an action comedy slant this time, with producers C3 Entertainment looking to add a big star into the mix.
“With Sean, Chris and Will back as our Stooges, and Cameron writing, this next film will be a truly unique blend of fast paced action with the hilarious mayhem of The Three Stooges," says C3 CEO Earl Benjamin. Are we really clamouring for more Stooge time? We’ll see when the film makes it to screens.
