The code of the Musketeer involves watching each others' backs - "One for all and all for one!" as the Muskehounds put it - while buckling as much swash as humanly possible, so this new poster for The Three Musketeers ticks several boxes, showing the 'teers in full fighing order while the baddies look on in eyepatches pulling funny faces. It also gives the movie's major players a nicely retro feel, while there's twiddly moustaches as far as the eye can see and even an explody bit for Paul W.S. Anderson purists.
Based on Alexandre Dumas' classic novel, Anderson's take is one of many adaptions to be brought to the screen - the first nearly 100 years ago, the last a decade ago - but it's the first to be shot entirely in 3D. All that sword swinging is going to get seriously hairy in three dimensions.
Of course, the story sees impetuous swordsman d'Artagnan (Percy Jackson himself, Logan Lerman) joining up with three Musketeers, Athos (Matthew MacFadyen), Porthos (Ray Stevenson) and Aramis (Luke Evans). Together they must tackle the menace to the state that is the evil, scheming Cardinal Richelieu (Christoph Waltz). As any Dogtanian fan will testify, this is no easy matter.
