Impressive… most impressive. Garry Marshall’s all-star rom-com, Valentine’s Day, which already boasted a cast starrier than the audience of ITV’s An Evening With Billy Connolly (and references don’t come any more topical than that), has added three more big-ish names to its roster of A-list talent. And no, none of them are Wincey Willis.
Topher Grace, who seems to have completed his penance for Spider-Man 3 and is now back in the big leagues, Emma Roberts and Marshall staple, Hector Elizondo, have all joined the big names populating the multi-strand comedy, which sees five interconnected love stories play out in Los Angeles on… you guessed it, Feb 14.
In case you need a reminder of those ridiculously photogenic big names, it’s time for a deep breath: Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner, Shirley MacLaine and Julia Roberts. The more eagle-eyed amongst you will have noted that, yes, this marks the first occasion on which Aunt Julia will share the screen with her niece, Emma.
Roberts the Younger will play a teenaged girl who wants to lose her virginity to her boyfriend. Grace will play a mailroom assistant at a big agency who’s dating Hathaway. Elizondo will play the husband of MacLaine’s character.
The New Line film, which will shoot in and around LA, is scheduled for release on February 12, 2010. Wonder why they did that?
