I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell, the memoir of American writer, hedonist and self-appointed ‘asshole’, Tucker Max, has found its principal cast. So now you can get on with your lives – the worry’s over.

Jesse Bradford and Geoff Stults will play Max’s best friends, while Matt Czuchry will assay the man himself in the comedy based on the best-selling memoir of the same name in which Max shares stories of his wild carousing with an audience of, it says here, millions.

The movie will focus on an episode where Max attends a friend’s bachelor party, ensnares the groom in a lie that threatens the wedding, and then abandons his mate in pursuit of pursuing the sexual favours of ladies. When he’s banned, not understandably, from the wedding, he tries to get back in his friend’s good graces.

Could be crass and awful – could be Harold & Kumar, only with a legal high. We’ll find out sometime next year – the movie, written by Max and Nils Parker, starts filming this month in Shreveport, Lousiana, under the watchful eye of Bob Gosse, who’ll be trying to show that, when it comes to directing, he’s not just one accidental keyboard stroke away from Bob Fosse.

For more information on Tucker Max, he has a website – www.tuckermax.com - which greets you with the words, “My name is Tucker Max and I am an asshole.” Maybe, but an asshole who’s about to have a movie based on his life. So he wins, really.
