We’ve already told you that Don Cheadle and Chiwetel Ejiofor will be teaming up for the true-life tale of Ralph Waldo “Petey” Green, the ex-convict who became a radio superstar.
Now Hustle & Flow’s Taraji P Henson, Cedric The Entertainer and Mike Epps (both last seen in The Honeymooners) are joining the cast of the Green biopic, Talk To Me. Kasi Lemmons is directing the film, which will arrive in cinemas in 2007.
Henson plays Green’s lover, Vernell, while Cedric appears as an established radio DJ whose more traditional style butts heads with Green. Epps crops up as Green’s incarcerated brother, Milo.
"We're so pleased to be working with Taraji and Mike again, and it's great to have Cedric on board, as he will spark the other men in the cast,” said Focus Features president John Lyons. “This is a gifted ensemble that, under Kasi's direction, will do justice to Petey's story."
