The bromance is over – for the time being at least – with Hulk saying cheerio to Thor on the Queensland set of Thor: Ragnorak. Mark Ruffalo has marked his final day of shooting with a clutch of farewell Instagram posts, including one of the freshly-shorn Chris Hemsworth.
Aside from featuring a sensibly-quiffed Norse god, not too much is known about Taika Waititi's, ahem, Thor-d instalment, except that it'll see the God of Thunder buddying up with Ruffalo’s Hulk. “There’s a little bit of Midnight Run, with [Charles] Grodin and [Robert] De Niro,” Ruffalo told Empire. "I feel like that’s kind of where we’re heading with this relationship between Thor and Banner.
"It is a universal road movie – that’s where we’re heading,” continues Ruffalo, adding cryptically: “It’s not where you'd think it will be, so it’s not your classic road movie but it has that structure, I think.”
Alongside Ruffalo and Hemsworth, new MCU additions for Thor: Ragnarok include Jeff Goldblum as the mysterious Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, AKA The Executioner, and Cate Blanchett as the scheming Hela. “With the additions of Cate, Jeff, Tessa, Karl and Mark [Ruffalo] to the cast we have the makings of [Thor's] most dangerous and heroic adventure yet,” promises Marvel head honchoKevin Feige.
Thor: Ragnarok will be out here on October 27, 2017.
