If you’ve seen any of the trailers for Thor: The Dark World, you’ll know that Asgard and many of the rest of the Nine Realms come under threat from the evil of Dark Elf Malekith (Christopher Eccleston). You’ll also have watched Thor (Chris Hemsworth) trying to fight back. And you might just have caught a glimpse or two of everyone’s favourite trickster, Loki (Tom Hiddleston). The first clip from the superhero sequel features the half-brothers in conversation.
Here we find Thor, against his better judgement, coming to ask the imprisoned Loki for help. He fully realises that he can’t trust someone who tried to usurp his position in Asgard and, oh yes, invaded the Earth with a massive alien army.
Desperate times, however, call for desperate measures and with Asgard under siege from Malekith’s forces, Thor’s just about desperate enough to make a pact with his own personal devil – even if he does still hope that Loki can be redeemed. Good luck with that, Point Break.
With Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Kat Dennings, Stellan Skarsgard, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Rene Russo, Jaimie Alexander, Idris Elba and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje in the cast, Thor: The Dark World is out here on October 30.
