Following the brief teaser for Thor: Love And Thunder that debuted last month, we now get a better look at Chris Hemsworth's hero (in more ways than one) and the next big-screen MCU entry courtesy of the trailer. And it's full of fun.
Front and centre are one new character (Christian Bale's villain-on-a-mission Gorr The God Butcher) and a returning face (Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, who has gained her own Thor-style powers to become The Mighty Thor).
Gorr is a creature with a grudge, angered by gods' lack of care for those who suffer because of them. So... he's on a killing spree.
As for Jane, we'll have to wait and see hoe the movie adapts her comics journey to superhero status, but Portman certainly nails being a powerful warrior.
Co-writer/director Taika Waititi is back in front of the cameras too as Thor's rock-skinned pal Korg, here kicking things off by telling kids about the Asgardian's adventures.
Russell Crowe's Zeus, largely seen in a blink-and-miss him moment before, here sparks one of the bigger laughs of the promo, accidentally stripping Thor of his clothes, causing many around him to faint.
Another fun dynamic appears to be the buddy comedy starring Jane and Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie – especially given the former's history with Odinson.
You can read more about Thor: Love And Thunder in the latest issue of Empire, available at all good, evil and New Asgardian newsagents. Among the goodies? Waititi singing the praises of his own film.
As for the movie itself, it'll hit cinemas on 8 July.
