The wheels are turning again at Marvel, where there are already early discussions about a third Captain America film. With the success of Thor: The Dark World, the company is also gearing up another trip to Asgard, making it all but guaranteed that two of the most popular Avengers will be getting solo films in Phase Three.
Thanks to his multi-film contract, Chris Hemsworth is surely a lock to once more heft Mjolnir, and we’re optmistic that there is no Thor 3 without a certain Mr. Thomas William Hiddleston bringing the cunning trickster Loki back for more mischief. After all, (spoiler alert!) given what happened at the end of The Dark World, we can only imagine who he’ll be impersonating this time.
Kevin Feige is, of course, overseeing things, and has hired from within for the writing staff, pairing Christopher Yost (who worked on the last film) and Marvel executive Craig Kyle.
“I am proud of Craig and have enjoyed working with him over these past years,” Feige said in a statement picked up by Variety. “His creative instincts have helped shape Thor and Thor: The Dark World at every level of the filmmaking process. The entire team at Marvel is very happy to continue collaborating with Craig as he continues as a screenwriter working with Christopher on the forthcoming chapter of Thor’s adventure.”
Naturally, there are no release date details yet, and Hemsworth, like Chris Evans, will first work on The Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Still, it’s good to know that we can expect more Thor in our lives in future.
