Paramount’s Halloween-set comedy Fun Size already locked in its lead with the casting of Victoria Justice. Now they’ve found her a gawky potential love interest, hiring Thomas Mann to join the movie.
Fun Size follows a bitingly sarcastic teenage girl (Justice) as she’s forced to drag her little brother along trick-or-treating with her when she’d much rather attend a party with her friends. But then she loses the annoying little squib and faces a mad dash around to find him before their mother learns what happened.
Last seen in It’s Kind of a Funny Story alongside Zach Galifianakis, Mann will play a naïve sort whose lesbian parents named him after Eleanor Roosevelt. As you do… While it sounds like a high concept comedy, the fact that the script comes from one of The Colbert Report’s writers, Max Werner, gives us some hope. It’ll also serve as the directorial debut of Josh Schwartz, the TV producer behind The OC, Gossip Girl and Chuck.
He’ll start to call the shots later this year in Minnesota.
