If you’re in a hurry to prove yourself as the first bunny on the force, the last thing you want is having to pry information from the slowest creature around. But that’s the situation that Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) finds herself in during the new trailer for Zootropolis.
Disney Feature Animation’s latest offering is set in the titular all-animal world (known as Zootopia in the US but Zootropolis here for some unknown naming quirk), where the likes of lions, tigers, bears, rats, weasels and elephants all (mostly) peacefully co-exist in a giant city set up to accommodate various habitat needs.
Hopps is an enthusiastic rabbit looking to break out of traditional bunny roles and make it as a cop. But, after being reduced to traffic warden duty, she lucks into a potentially huge case and finds herself on a ticking clock to solve it. It won’t be easy, and her main assistance will come from the last person she likes or trusts – fast-talking scam artist fox Nick Wild (Jason Bateman).
The trailer largely shows Judy and Nick showing up at the traditionally slow-paced Department of Motor Vehicles needing to run a plate and meeting a pal of Nick’s: the ironically named sloth Flash. With Tangled’s Byron Howard and Wreck-It Ralph’s Rich Moore sharing main directorial duties, Zootropolis will be out in the UK on March 25, 2016.
