James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad and Universal’s Fast & Furious franchise already have a few things in common. They both feature Peacemaker himself, John Cena, as well as Idris Elba (aka. Deadshot/Brixton Lore), and they are both, in their own unique way, all about – slips into Vin Diesel voice – family. And, as reported in Deadline last night, there’s now something else to add that list – Daniela Melchior, breakout star of Gunn’s entry in the DCEU, has joined the cast of Fast & Furious 10.

She’s the second major Fast 10 casting announcement, following the news that Jason Momoa will also join Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and the gang in the Fast saga’s penultimate chapter as the villain. Since impressing as Ratcatcher 2 in The Suicide Squad, Portuguese star Melchior has landed roles in Neil Jordan’s Raymond Chandler-inspired neo-noir thriller Marlowe, as well as Camille Delamarre’s upcoming Henry Golding and Sam Neill-starring Assassin’s Club.

Details on Melchior’s character in Fast & Furious 10, and the film’s plot, remain very much under wraps at the moment. But, following last year’s gravity-defying, $720 million grossing F9, the first part of Justin Lin’s two-part finale to everybody’s favourite fuel-headed franchise is revving up to be a spectacular climax.
