Ghostbusters: Afterlife – exclusive

The wait will soon be over for Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Jason Reitman's official follow-up to his father's 1980s' wayward spirit-hunting comedies. And a new, trailer offers a few snippets of new footage. Have a look...

This time around, it's years since the likes of Ray Stanz, Peter Venkman, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore were running around Manhattan chasing ghosts. The story picks up with Callie (Carrie Coon), trying to make a new start for her family (McKenna Grace's Phoebe and Finn Wolfhard's Trevor) by moving to a small town in the middle of nowhere, where her father (it's still not explicitly stated, but it's clearly the late Harold Ramis' Egon) had a farmhouse.

So why here? Turns out this unassuming slice of Americana hides a dark secret, and supernatural forces are swirling. So the kids, along with teacher (and Ghostbusters fan) Mr. Grooberson (Paul Rudd) investigate... Cue mini Stay Pufts, an appearance from new ghost Muncher and plenty of chaos.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife finally lands in UK cinemas on 18 November. You can find some exclusive images here, check out a sample of our exclusive chat with Reitman and rather Ivan's joint interview and read our review of the movie.
