Maisie Williams has a habit of getting herself in over her head on screen. Across Game Of Thrones, she came up against the biggest bads that Westeros (and Essos) had to offer, while in The New Mutants she found herself locked up by an institution intent on causing harm to her and her fellow powered-up classmates. Now, she’s caught up in a crime gone wrong in horror-thriller The Owners – a home invasion movie where the invaders soon find themselves desperate to escape.
Directed by French filmmaker Julius Berg, The Owner stars Williams as Mary – or is it Kate? – a youngster who’s drawn into a plot to rob a stash of cash from an elderly couple’s empty house. But when its owners return home, the tables are turned – and the gang is faced with a threat they never saw coming. Here’s an exclusive clip:
Not only does The Owners star Williams, but that’s Doctor Who legend Sylvester McCoy as the menacing Mr. Huggins, starring alongside Doctor Zhivago’s Rita Tushingham. The film is adapted from French graphic novel Une Nuit de Pleine Lune (roughly translated as ‘A Full Moon Night’) – and packs plenty of twists and turns into its swift 92-minute runtime.
The Owners arrives on digital platforms from 22 February, and comes to DVD on 1 March.
