Get ready: The Matrix is going to have you all over again. For a while now, we’ve known that Lana Wachowski was returning to the sci-fi saga she helped bring to the big screen, with the likes of Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss returning too. We recently learned that it’ll officially be calledThe Matrix Resurrections. And now, we have our very first glimpses at this mysterious, mythical, all-new Matrix movie courtesy of some interactive teasers, which can be found on the revamped website: whatisthematrix.com. Head to the site, and you’ll be confronted with a red pill and a blue pill. Select either one of them, and you’ll get some brief flashes of the new film, along with some important info: the full trailer is dropping this Thursday.

So, what do we see in those teasers? The footage changes with each viewing, so be sure to check them several times – but from multiple watches, here are some things that Empire snapped, and some thoughts on what we’re seeing.

There are plenty of familiar echoes there, then – shots recreated particularly from the first film, shiny pills, gooey mirrors, and gravity-defying stunts. And, depending on which version you see, there are some returning shots of Neo and Trinity too – sure to get fans of the original trilogy very excited. Plus we have some glimpses of our new cast members, including Jessica Yu Li Henwick, Jonathan Groff, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II – whose character (could he, as rumoured, be connected to Morpheus in some way?) has some very interesting stuff going on, by the looks of things.

Either way, expect more answers – or, at least, plenty more questions – when the full trailer for The Matrix Resurrections arrives later this week. For now, we can’t wait to jack into the Matrix once more.
