Hunting humans is a concept that, cinematically at least, stretches back at least as far as 1932's The Most Dangerous Game. 2019's equivalent, The Hunt, comes from the Blumhouse team and director Craig Zobel, with just a hint of the politically-charged energy of the Purge franchise. See the first teaser, which mostly appears as an ad for high-end hunting establishment The Manor, below.
The Hunt was written by Damon Lindelof and Leftovers fellow writer Nick Cuse. They've dreamt up a concept that finds a group of globalist elites gathering for the very first time at a remote Manor House to hunt humans for sport.
But the elites’ master plan is about to be derailed because one of the hunted, Crystal (Betty Gilpin), knows The Hunters’ game better than they do. She turns the tables on the killers, picking them off, one by one.
You won't see any of that in the teaser, nor will you see the likes of Hilary Swank, Emma Roberts, Justin Hartley and Ike Barinholtz, who all feature in the cast. The Hunt heads to UK cinemas on 27 September
