Aiming to grab audiences' attention as they digest turkey, entertain visiting relatives or try to forget how much they drank the day before, new musical The Greatest Showman, which stars Hugh Jackman, makes its grand entrance on Boxing Day. The latest trailer for the movie has arrived.
Jackman plays PT Barnum, a man with big dreams and even bigger ambitions, who figured that showmanship could be his way out of poverty and provide hope for his wife (Michelle Williams' Charity) and kids. He went on to gather a variety of performers and those others labelled freaks, and staged a circus that drew applause from some, and the ire of others.
Also in the cast for this one are Zac Efron as his business partner, Phillip Carlyle, Zendaya as trapeze artist Anne Wheeler, and Rebecca Ferguson as fellow real-life figure Jenny Lynd, an opera singer whose established, respectable fame offers Barnum a chance to win his own legitimacy.
With Michael Gracey directing, the movie features songs from La La Land duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. It'll be out, as mentioned, on 26 December.
