We've got Gods and crows on our minds on this week's jam-packed episode of the Empire Film Podcast folks — and we'll tell you for why. In a doozy of a double-guest week, first up we have a sizeable slab of the Empire VIP Club live Q&A Chris Hewitt did with Jeff Goldblum, star of Netflix's Greek myth riffing new show KAOS, to serve up for your audible delectation. And it is, as you'd expect, Goldblum at his most Goldblummy — Goldblummin' good stuff if you will [24:13 - 42:52 approx]. Then, flying in to your ears we've got an interview between Chris and Rupert Sanders, the director of the brand new version of cult classic The Crow. Together, they talk about grief, love, and wrestling with iconography [1:05:04 - 1:24:24 approx].

Either side of our guest interviews, Chris is joined in the podbooth this week by Helen O'Hara, Ben Travis and — in her final pod before she leaves Empire (*sigh*)— the almighty Sophie Butcher to discuss the news of The Acolyte's cancellation, the passing of French film great Alain Delon, Happy Gilmore 2 and Anaconda reboot updates, and *that* mad Megalopolis trailer hullabaloo. And, as it's Sophie's last show, the listeners' questions segment is dedicated almost entirely to her, as she answers your questions about her brief but brilliant time at the world's biggest movie magazine (and award-losing podcast arm). Plus, amidst the sadness and dewy-eyed reminiscences, we also find time to review Irish rap trio origin story Kneecap, Zoë Kravitz's razor sharp directorial debut Blink Twice, and Hunter Schafer x Dan Stevens', er, cuckoo thriller Cuckoo. With a line-up this strong, who'd ever want to leave us, eh? Eh? (Sophie, the fourth revolving chair beckons!)

You can listen to this week's episode (and over 600 more) on the pod app of your choice. And if you want to come and see the Empire Film Podcast LIVE at the London Podcast Festival at King's Place on Saturday 7 September, then head over to the King's Place website and get your tickets right here before they all sell out!
