Lionsgate and Millennium are planning a new kind of Saw for next Hallowe'en. Or rather, an old kind, with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D reportedly taking the elderly franchise right back to its Tobe Hooper roots. They always say that though. To start the saw chugging, here's a just-released teaser poster.
Yup, it's a man - presumably Leatherface - with a bloody chainsaw. Literally days of brainstorming for that one. We're liking "Buzz. Kill." as a tagline though. Amused by that. And are we reaching, or is there a bit of Unforgiven about this poster? It's the shadowed, back-turned, beweaponed figure, the black background and the orange type that's giving us the flashbacks. But it's also appropriate, since Clint's youngest son Scott Eastwood is in the cast.
Alexandra Daddario stars in the film as the unlucky girl who's given custody of Leatherface as part of a bequest (no, really), and she's supported by Tania Raymonde, Sue Rock, and Chainsaw veteran Bill Moseley. We're also promised cameos from original Leatherface Gunnar Hansen, original screamer Marilyn Burns, and original Grandpa John Dugan.
Kirsten Elms took the most recent stab at the screenplay; Marc Burg is producing; Mark Luessenhop (Takers) is directing; and shooting is underway right now.
