It's always heartening to learn that Tessa Thompson will be bringing her skills to our screens, and she's a key component of a new romantic drama. Thompson will co-star with Nnamdi Asomugha in Sylvie.
Eugene Ashe wrote the script and is now busy directing the film, set in the cool jazz era of New York City in the late 1950’s/early 1960’s. Sylvie (Thompson) meets aspiring saxophonist Robert (played by Asomugha) when he takes a job at her father’s record store in Harlem. After a summer romance comes to an end, the two fatefully reconnect several years later and find that their feelings for each other have never disappeared.
Asomugha is also on to produce thus one, which has yet to confirm a release date. Next up for Thompson is Men In Black International, due on 14 June. She's voicing Lady in Disney's new CG/live-action version of Lady And The Tramp and will report back to the Westworld set this year to shoot scenes for Season 3.
