There’s one more familiar face set to pop up in Denis Villeneuve’s new thriller Prisoners. The latest to sign on to the kidnap drama is Terrence Howard.

While Deadline’s story on the casting doesn’t make clear whom he’s playing, it’s just another solid choice for a film that is currently loaded with talent.

Hugh Jackman leads the pack, playing a father whose daughter is kidnapped alongside her friend. When the cops fail to find the girls, he takes the law into his own hands and imprisons the man he thinks is responsible. But that’s when he runs afoul of the hotshot detective (Jake Gyllenhaal) running the case, who doesn’t exactly appreciate an otherwise well-intentioned civilian getting in the way of things.

Maria Bello, Viola Davis, Melissa Leo and Paul Dano are all already aboard and given this cast, we have our fingers firmly crossed that Prisoners could be something great. Aaron Guzikowski wrote the script and Villeneuve will be cranking the cameras in February, aiming to have the film ready to release in the autumn.

Howard was last seen in On The Road and will next appear in The Butler, Movie 43 and Ten.
