Terminator: Dark Fate Poster Teases The Judgment Day Sequel

Terminator: Dark Fate

It’s fair to say that none of the post-2000 Terminator sequels have lived up to the utter brilliance of Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Of course, that’s an incredibly high bar to cross – James Cameron’s 1991 film is a total masterpiece, with the filmmaker, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Linda Hamilton all working at maximum capacity. But with Rise Of The Machines, Salvation, and Genisys all disappointing to various degrees, how do you get everyone back on board with the time-travelling killer robot saga? You ignore those later films, and instead deliver a direct sequel to the ones everybody loved.

Terminator: Dark Fate

In the first Terminator: Dark Fate poster, which has arrived ahead of tomorrow’s trailer drop, the focus is clearly on revisiting the most popular elements of the original two movies. Linda Hamilton is front and centre as the returning Sarah Connor, James Cameron is back on board as a producer, and the tagline promises we’re about to witness ‘the day after Judgment Day’. And yes, they’re still committing to that dodgy spelling of ‘judgment’.

With the moody sunset hues on display here, this poster teases a Logan-esque palette for Dark Fate, which comes from Deadpool director Tim Miller. There’s no mention of Arnie on this sheet, but the OG Terminator star is also back for this latest outing, alongside new cast members Mackenzie Davis, Gabriel Luna, Natalia Reyes, and Diego Boneta. Stay tuned tomorrow for the trailer to arrive – maybe even from a future where the Terminator series is back on form.
