The film charts the real-life scandal that rocked the art world in the 1970s and 80s when it was revealed that the striking paintings of children with big eyes, claimed by Walter Keane, were actually the work of his soon-to-be-ex-wife, Margaret.
After a court case which saw both of the couple presented with an easel to show off their work, Margaret won the right to paint under her own name.
Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz are aboard to play the central pair, with Krysten Ritter, Jason Schwartzman, Danny Huston and Jon Polito all in the cast.
